The following video lesson, titled “ Inactivating and Reactivating List Items,” shows how to inactivate list items in QuickBooks Desktop Pro. Doing this then hides its display within the list.
If you don’t want to use a list item but you can’t delete it, you can make it inactive, instead. If you try to delete a list item you used in a transaction, QuickBooks Desktop Pro warns you that it cannot be deleted. When you choose this option, you will be prompted to enter a Printed Check Number.
From the Write Checks window, select the Print icon then select: Check- To print a single check. In QuickBooks Desktop Pro, you can only delete list items you have not used in any transactions. Select the QuickBooks Edit menu, then select Delete Check.
